Wednesday Blubber....

So, tomorrow is the second to last weigh in of the Biggest Loser Competition! I am nervous, but feeling good overall. As of today, I am down 14.6 lbs, I am eating better than ever, and I am feeling great!

I am starting my own Awesome Arms contest beginning today (inspired from the T-Tapp Forums) Today - I will measure my arms (upper arms, and forearm) to the starting measurement. For two weeks, I will aim to do the exercises below 3 sets of each 2x per day. I am starting with the Donna's Awesome Arms (in honor of Donna Martin... just kidding!) for one week and move to Dan's Arm's for week two. Check them out, these should be easy to sneak into the day, and according to those on the forum seem to work!

In other fitness news....

To get me through the last two weeks of this comp, I got myself a pair of the ugliest shoes ever.

The claim: help burn more calories, activate core muscles and reduce joint stress.

So far, I have only worn them for three days (EOD), and today was the first day I actually walked a distance in them. So I cannot confirm or deny the claim. Only time will tell. However, they are the most comfortable pair of shoes I own. (Don't tell anyone I said that though, as they are still hideous looking! I will deny it, I swear!!). I have to thank my sissa for the idea - as I have been checking them out for a while - but the ugly kept me away, and once I knew she got them, and could feel the difference in her walking, I HAD to get them. Curiosity always gets the best of me!

It felt good today to be able to get out at lunch and go for a walk. It was been raining the past couple of days, and I have been stuck inside during lunch - so today was good. I walked my happy ass to the library to return my overdue book, and pick up those I had on reserve. I tell ya, I am loving the library these days! I've been getting cook books, and other books that will help me stay focused and motivated on my goals. I have a post in my head re: my new favorite recipes - however, that will have to wait.

In other news, J and M is in dire need of prayers and good vibes. Last week, the hard drive containing all of our songs and karaoke files started going unrecognized by our laptops. We have a computer guy working on it, but as the Magic 8 Ball says "Outlook not so good!" I am not saying this could be the end of our business, but it will be the beginning of a long, expensive re-build if they cannot retrieve the information. So, again, please keep us in your prayers (no matter who you pray to), send us some good vibes, or both!

Well, I leave you with the lessons I learned by going to the library today:

1. Even if you are consistently overdue with your books, the library will continue to let you borrow... It's how they make some money!

2. I can spend hours just perusing the shelves books. While this is not ideal during my lunch hour, I do still try to check a new aisle out each time I go there.

3. When walking to the library, be sure to watch the quantity of books you are returning and renting, as either way, you will have to carry them back while walking. (Hard lesson learned today - even though I brought a tote, my arms and fingers are still slightly shaking from the carry back to work! Note to self - keep backpack in the car for this very reason. Easy on the shoulders and hands while walking.)

4. Librarians are some of the nicest people around.

5. The smell of a library - the old books - will always take me back to grade school "study sessions"* at the Brooklyn Library. What great times, and memories!

*by study sessions in quotes - I am not referring to anything other than goofing off at the library when we should have been studying. Now get your mind out of the gutter - it was grade school people!!!

Peace out! ;-)
