I should eat What? and When?

This week I started my strength program in addition to my running workouts (more on that later).  I had a good idea as to what to eat to fuel my runs (pre and post) but had no idea how to fuel for a strength workout.  Carbs, protein... and what's all this talk about chocolate milk?*

Well, like manna from heaven, this just happened to come across my twitter feed this morning.  A great source of info for beginners (like me!) and a great reference for the old pros!

*see below, now that is a wagon I am totally jumpin on for post workout fuel! 


Health and Fitness

How do you fuel for your workouts?  What is your favorite snack/meal pre or post workout? 


-I normally have my coffee and a banana before a run, and after I drink atleast 24 oz of water and eat some apples and peanut butter, or carrots and hummus to tide me over until my main meal.  Since I just started the strength, I will probably have a hard boiled egg with some yogurt pre-workout, and a hemp protein smoothie after depending on how hard I work it out.  I will definitely be adding 8 oz of chocolate milk post workouts!
