Can you even believe it?

It being that is is November already?!

Well, with each new month, I try to re-focus on my goals, as well as possibly set some new goals along the way.

#5kin100days
I am in week 8 of #5kin100days - more than halfway through the program.  I am slated to go through December 16th.  My goal is to keep pushing my self, and keep sticking with the program.  The weather is getting colder, and a bit frostier.  While we have not had snow yet, I could make myself crazy trying to plan for when the snow comes.  I do my workouts outside at the track, and once the snow begins to fall, that will no longer be an option.  I am going to check out a 24 hour gym this weekend to see if they have what I need to be able to keep going through the winter.

Pile on the Miles 2011
Going hand in hand with #5kin100days, I am pledging to log my miles for the month of November with the help of Pile on the Miles, courtesy of Run Eat Repeat.  In an effort to NOT undue all of the hard work I have done over the holidays, I am pledging to keep moving.  My goal is to log 10 miles each week.  The miles are based on walking or running only, and I think that hitting this goal each week should not be a problem.

Get on your Bikes and Ride
I should be receiving my new Bern Brighton Hard Hat helmet this week.  Which means I need to hit the Metroparks for a ride or two before the weather turns nasty.  My goal is to get out on my bike 5 times this November.  I wouldn't mind getting a few rides to work in once I am over this cold.

Get my Read On
With all of the ways I am getting my body in shape, I cannot forget about the old mind - Which is why I must add reading to my list of goals.  I love.love.love my Kindle (you know, the old fashioned one with a keyboard and buttons), and I have so many good books loaded up on it, that I really need to start making time to read daily.  This may mean cutting out a show before I go to bed, or not playing that last game of Angry Birds, but I know I can do this - it is time to get back in the mood.  My goal for November is to read 2 books.  **Did you know that the public library now lends out Kindle e-books?  Yep, you get an electronic book for 21 days to read on your kindle, absolutely free.  I currently have Born to Run on loan and plan on reading that starting tonight.

Be Thankful
Last, I want to remind myself to be grateful for what I have.  It is the month of Thanksgiving after all, and what better time to do alittle self reflecting.  My goal is to write down one thing I am thankful for everyday of November.  Small reminders of what makes my life what it is, and why it is never as bad as (at times) it may seem.

So there you have it.  November is a great month for all sorts of reasons (none of which could possibly be my birthday) and I plan to contribute to that greatness in my own little way.

What are your goals this November?
