Run the Hood 5k - Recap

This past Saturday I Ran the Hood.  So, I got all my goodies together that arrived about a week prior, and headed to the local high school track to get my run on.  The weather was beautiful (coming off of a 5 day RAINY week!) and by mile 2, I was wishing we would have gotten Bondibands with our goodies, as I was sweating!!  Since I am training for a 5k with the #5kin100days program (and I am on week 6 of 15) I completed the 5k doing a modified version of the week 6.3 workout.  Basically, my 5k looked like this:

  •   20 minutes of fast walking (<4.0)
  •   20 minutes of intervals 
    • 3 minutes running /1 minute walking  x5
  •   5 minutes fast walking
  • TOTAL 5k TIME:  00:45:23
I was happy with this time and felt really good completing the race!  I am looking forward to next year to see if I can beat my time.
