My Daily Challenge today was about saying so long to clutter. It could not have been more appropriate, as I was just telling my husband that I had alot going on in my head that I need to get out.* This was two nights ago, and I have yet to de-clutter that matter from my head. Here goes.
Weigh in last week was a pound gained. Needless to say, I was not happy, however I knew it was not going to be good, as I did not get outside last week nearly as much as I wanted. Silly rain! This week, I was back on the wagon, and I even completed workout 1.1 of #5kin100days with the other two scheduled for this week. I am a week or two behind, but wanted to start fresh this week - it is always nice to have a new beginning.
I am starting to realize that I CAN do the exercises - I enjoy doing the exercise - when it is outside. I am happy to strap on my sneakers and head out on a 3 mile walk, or hop on the old bike and ride to work, or just around the neighborhood. I was a bit lost last week, when it rained pretty much every day (sporadically, etc) and I could not/did not head out everyday. I am more than prepared - I bring my umbrella and a rain coat (which I need a new GOOD one that does not turn into a sweat lodge when I wear it in the rain) and alittle water never hurt anyone.
This has me alittle more than concerned about the winter months. Ok, Ok, I know, I should have a good 9 to 10 weeks left of outdoor activity (possibly more, if the snow holds out) - but realistically, this is Cleveland people, and it could snow tomorrow. I need to start planning, start pulling out my arsenal of "indoor" videos, and equipment that I can use for those six months of winter that are staring me in the face. (Side note: I feel like this is crazy talk, since I JUST got my plan together for these fall month(s) the other day. But I am finding if I don't plan, I don't do. And we just cannot have all of the work I am striving toward now be undone by the dreary, cold, snowy, holiday-ridden winter months. Taking inventory of what I have, and will be making a plan soon - by the beginning of October latest. (remind me!)
Been loving biking to work. I made the commitment to bike once/twice a week for the next four weeks. I have been at it for about 4 weeks this week - but have had to chicken out (and get a ride home from the hubs) once or twice due to nasty weather, or forgetting about picking up the CSA. I plan on taking a Saturday AM and hitting some of the awesome bike trails through the valley. Through groups like Bike CLE I am hoping to get in on some cool biking events with other like minded peeps. I am also dying to try out the Bike Aboard train through the Cuyahoga Valley. Take the train one way, and bike the way back. For $3.00 - and a train ride, how can I pass that up! Since I got my new seat on my bike (still working on the basket, but perhaps this week?!) I am loving it!
Wow, I feel better already. Hope everyone is having a good week. I know I plan to!
I have to give a shout out to Sean over at Learn Fitness for his post today. It is so true, and so inspiring. Thanks - it is just what I needed today!
*Did you know that my husband did not know that I blogged? Seriously babe, I've talked about it before, and even linked to it on Biggest Loser site... I promise I'm not keeping it from you, feel free to read all about it. And when you get bored outta your gord, you can give me some feedback. LY!
